Can you check in the dump ?

Goto Internal notes in your dump and tell the value.

No more XXXXXXX bytes could be allocated for the sorting.

No more 8388608 bytes could be allocated for the sorting.

This is correct as per note 193529 .

System tries to allocate 8MB chunks from heap memory. But question is why it not able to access heap memory because ST02 still shows Heap available even after reducing the nondia

Hi,

I think this could be because of the kernel, as this all is now taken care by the kernel itself. May be an update to current level may solve the problem.

Also, what the maximum heap size per process ?

Can you check this "memlimits -v off".

We cannot run this DIALOG.

Refer: 789477 - Large extended memory on AIX (64-bit) as of Kernel 6.20

May be some adjustment might work.

Update the SAP kernel to 720 EXT version and repeat the phase in SUM.

If the background job RSUPDTEC failed then check the work process trace file of the failed background process.

If possible stop SUM and restart the SAP system. Start SUM and repeat.

Hi All.,

Thanks for the inputs. Our kernel is 720_REL sp401. Kernel upgrade is last option.

Gaurav I had already checked the notes suggested by you but no success.

But I checked the below and felt that some parameters setting should help in this.

Batchjob 'RSUMOD01' aborted in EHP4 Upgrade( ADJUSTCHK_PRE! )

I have opened this with SAP and will update the thread accordingly.

Meanwhile if someone has any other inputs then please share.

Regards

SS

Hi Anshul,

Login to UEQ of nr=00 check work process log file based job id 17574300, and check whether job exhausted with memory, or any error. Please paste the log file.

Hi SS,

Can you please check SHMMIN, SHMMAX, SHMMNI or SHMSEG values which may also cause problems.

Please paste values.

Dear all,

For your information, I have tried setting the deadlock priority, downgrading the tp version, etc. But deadlock will just keep going.

We have used another server for further experiments and our conclusion is: what you need to do is, simply click "Continue" whenever you meet a deadlock. Deadlocks are currently unavoidable.

Hi Anshul,

Two notes which i asked you to check were pointing to this error only.

You should have checked them before.

while performing the EHP7 upgrade during the extraction phase I faced below error.

Severe error(s) occurred in phase PREP_INPUT/SUMCHK!

Last error code set: tp failed with return code 232, check G:\SUM\abap\log\TPSQLSTD.OUT

I have tried implementing the below parameter disp+work is stopped

Env variable rsdb_ssfs_connect = 1

rsdb/ssfs_connect = 0

I have attached the TPSQLSTD log file below,Kindly share your inputs to fix above error.

Hi Krishna,

Can you execute R3trans -d and share trans.log file.

Also, are you using SSFS?

Can you share more traces from log and temp folder.
