I am OK till Sandbox System, but how can we proceed in productive landscape. Do we have to perform same steps in DEV --> QAS --> PROD systems as well.

Hi All,
We are trying to upgrade our SAP System from ERP 6.0 EHP 7-EHP 8.While trying to generate the XML for this i dont see the component EA-APPL & EA-FIN in the list of component to be upgraded.I want to involve these component also.Can someone please provide me the steps on how to add these components to the product system in LMDB.I went to LMDB->Software->Product Instance(Details).But not sure how to proceed next.

Hi Rajdeep,
Is your system defined properly in LMDB. Please check and compare the Software/Component version in LMDB --> Technical System -- > <SID> --> Display --> Software --> Product Instances, Product Instances (Details) & Software Component Version.
There is option for verification check also which can update if your system is properly defined in LMDB.

Need help upgrading a client’s SAP R3 4.7x200 enterprise system, on Oracle 11.203 (Server Win 2008) to SAP ERP 6.0, NW 7.4 EHP 7.
I was able to download the target files using mopzs but when I run the SUM tool, I get stack in the extraction phase (PREP_INPUT//DETMAINMODE)
Last error code set Unsupported DVD kit ID ‘numbers and characters’ found in ‘xml file’ tool maybe too old.
I spend a few hours reading similar forums here but still having a hard time deciding on how to proceed. Some forums are saying if my target is EHP7, I can use SUM while some are saying I need to use SAPup (a tool I’m not familiar with). And I was under the impression that all this older tools were replaced by SUM.
Anyways, I did try and download SAPup, extracted the files. Tried opening SAPup application but nothings happens. How do I operate this guy? Or is the a way I can use SUM, a tool I have become accustomed to lately.
Please guide me.

Hi Steven,
there is a restriction for EHP4 and EHP5, but if your target is EHP7 then this should be no problem for SUM SP17.
Would you please try to create the stackfile again so that we can ensure everything is fine with that?
Otherwise please use the latest SUM SP17.
Maybe you can also attach some logfiles for further checking:
-- DETMAINMODE.LOG
-- stack.xml file

I started SUM 10 SP17 using http://hostname:1128/lmsl/sumabap/SID/index.html
thats after installing and starting SAP hostagent.
SUM in now "stuck" at 57% in SELECT_ROADMAP phase. No errors in the SUM logs but its been in this phase for the last 30minutes. This cant be normal behavior
the logs in SUM/abap/log are not being updated
any advice as to why it would behave in such a way. I have notice that the latest SUM 16 and 17 are a bit complicated compared to earlier versions

Please check the SAPhostagent log and the logs from <SUM_DIR>/sdt.

I think latest version of SUM uses SLUIGUI during startup. Could you try to start the SUM according to section "5.4 Starting and Restarting the Software Update Manager" of "Update of SAP Systems Using Software Update Manager 1.0 SP17" guide? Hope it will help you.

Dear Abdul,
According to the sap note the function module TH_SERVER_LIST doesn't have any entries.
Also when i login into the Shadow instance and run any tx receiving the error as "Syntax error in program SAPLSTRD"
So could you suggest if still the entries need to be maintained manually.

I found several notes about versions of tp and R3trans, but i have the latest versions of them.
Then i went to SE11->EDOPROCSPINTDETV and found that this view based on 3 tables:
EDOPROCSPINTDET
EDOINTERFACE
EDOINTERFACET
And only EDOPROCSPINTDET table has unique index EDOPROCSPINTDET~00.
I deleted all rows in table SAPSR3.EDOPROCSPINTDET and repeated the phase to find out whether identical rows are inserted to existing or whether it is an error of the packet, and the errors occured again. I selected rows from SAPSR3.EDOPROCSPINTDET
and found that there are 21 rows, after that i understood that SAPIH61712 insert duplicated rows. OK, i restarted the whole procedure of upgrade(restore db and did system copy),
and during MAIN_NEWBAS/TABIM_UPG phase after the same errors i:
1) unlocked system
2) went to SE11-> EDOPROCSPINTDET->Indexes->select index and unset UNIQUE flag, saved and activated changes
3) repeat phase
And the Phase was done!
I checked indexes on table EDOPROCSPINTDET and found:
index "EDOPROCSPINTDET~0" based on "MANDT", "PROCESS", "VERSION", "PROCSTEP", "EDOC_TYPE", "SOURCE_TYPE" columns
index "EDOPROCSPINTDET~00" based "MANDT", "INTERFACE_ID", "PROCESS", "VERSION", "EDOC_TYPE", "SOURCE_TYPE" columns
I selected duplicated rows from table based on index "EDOPROCSPINTDET~00" and found there are 9 duplicated rows:
select MANDT,INTERFACE_ID,PROCESS,VERSION,EDOC_TYPE,SOURCE_TYPE,count(*) from sapsr3.EDOPROCSPINTDET group by MANDT,INTERFACE_ID,PROCESS,VERSION,EDOC_TYPE,SOURCE_TYPE having count(*)>1;
Then i went to SE16->EDOPROCSPINTDET set the following:

SVNCISUM

edoc_type
SVN_CISUM
and saw that there are really 2 rows with identical interface_id=/EDOSVNCINV1, process=SVNCISUM,version=0001, edoc_type=SVN_CISUM
BUT: PROC_STEP is different, for one is REQ_SEND value and for another SENDEDOC value.
Then i found the note 2354379. In this note say: index "EDOPROCSPINTDET~00" was deleted in he Support Package SAPKH61711, at this point is unknown why it is being created in the database.
And i guess that my previous steps seem to be correct even if this note for Ms SQL server.
My questions to you, experts:
1) My steps was correct?
2) Who have EHP7 with SAP-APPL SP12 could you see in your systems, table EDOPROCSPINTDET has any unique indexes based on "MANDT", "PROCESS", "VERSION", "PROCSTEP", "EDOC_TYPE", "SOURCE_TYPE" columns?
3) Who have EHP7 with SAP-APPL SP12 could you show output from this select:
select MANDT,INTERFACE_ID,PROCESS,VERSION,EDOC_TYPE,SOURCE_TYPE,count(*) from sapsr3.EDOPROCSPINTDET group by MANDT,INTERFACE_ID,PROCESS,VERSION,EDOC_TYPE,SOURCE_TYPE having count(*)>1;

Thanks for the reply,i did update of system in lmdb also did a verification check post update... everything looks good...there is no error message as such.. it's that these two components dnt come in the XML generated for who 8 upgrade while i want tht to be the part of XML...so I think I have to assing the product instance accordingly for that & I am nt sure on how to do it...

EA-FIN 617 is adopted by SAP_FIN 618 in EHP8.

In my case, this isn't working.
I tried the following two options:
SQL> DROP INDEX SAPSR3."EDOPROCSINTDET~00";
SQL> DROP INDEX SAPSR3."EDOPROCSINTDET~001";
And got the following error message for both:
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-01418: specified index does not exist
Then I queried the indexes for the table, but couldn't find anyone.
SQL> select

If you see my error, please let me know. This upgrade is starting to conflict with a new Implementation project (SAP ATTP), and we're urge to finish.
